This Boathouse designed and built by Dynck is a showcase of using local wood, handtools and new technologies. The construction (position and angle of the columns and braces) is optimized using Karamba3D and Galapagos in Grasshopper and afterwards the calculations where done by an engineer from Arup. The algorithm automatically generated ‘saw and drill’ lists, drawings for cnc metal cutting and positioning grid for the columns.
