The mobile, in lightweight construction, will be installed in the covered indoor hall of the Justice Center Korneuburg, aims to visible the invisible thermals in the area caused by the air movements of the building and the people in it. The principle of Mobile, in which all elements balance with eachother in equilibrium, mirrors the principle of balance, and thus is a symbol of the Justice Center. The expansion of the balance is represented by a delicate, complex system, which demonstrates that in every situation, various forces have influence and affect the entire constellation: there is not only a simple Yes, No, a black or white.
The structure exists as a 3D geometry, it is mathematically balanced and structurally designed as an aluminum construction. It consists of a delicate network of lightweight aluminum tubing and black balls that are attached to ends of sailing in various sizes. Karamba 3d was implemented to optimize the balancing of each component within the overall structure, as well as to calculate loads and sizes of the individual members.
